The safe storage of sesame mainly depends on moisture and temperature. According to experience, the moisture content of sesame seeds is below 7%, the impurities do not exceed 1%, the pile height is 2 meters, and the grain temperature is low, and the summer can be safely passed; when the moisture does not exceed 8%, it can be stored for short-term in autumn and winter. But after the beginning of spring, we should pay attention to precipitation. However, the moisture content of seed sesame must be below 7%, and the grain temperature should be below 25℃, and the highest temperature should not exceed 30℃.

Sesame is prone to damages from moths such as Indian grain moths and mealy moths, and pests such as book lice and mites.
