Desiccant Storage and Warehousing Precautions
Desiccant is used for moisture proof which has widely application. You can see it almost in every industry. With the increasing demand for good product quality and the awareness of moisture proof importance, more and more customers buy desiccant from us. At the mean time, they focus on how to storage and warehouse the desiccant if buy large amount.
It is necessary to have a correct storage and warehousing standard. Keep the desiccant in a cool dry place, keep note the fire, theft, pest, moisture and damage. Below is the SOP.
1. Before reception and warehousing, desiccant should be unloaded in a safe and civilized way; at a rain, wind, sand preventing area, avoid wet, dirty and damage.
2. Check the warehouse environment. Please make sure the doors, windows, walls, ceilings are all sealed, no racks, damage and holes. Keep doors and windows closed at non-operating time.
3. Pay attention to rats, termites, pest. Make sure the precaution measures are effective. Keep everywhere clean, no pollution, no garbage, mass dust etc.
4. If condition permitted, constant temperature and humidity control for warehousing is the best. Temperature and humidity requirements: temperature 25 ℃ ± 5 ℃, humidity 60% ± 5%. You should keep the doors closed at non-operation time. Wandering in warehouse is forbidden.
5. Under normal circumstances (non-constant temperature and humidity), we should pay more attention to moisture proof. Keep doors, windows closed. Avoid excessive moisture from the outside. Make sure the floor (ground), is dry and clean. Otherwise the cartons are easy to get mildewed.
6. When stacking the desiccant cartons, stack it into a neat, stable, straight line. Leave enough space, stay away from the walls, pillars. Distance should be at least larger than 0.3~0.5 meters. Do not cover the fire hydrants and other equipments. Do not occupy the cargo corridor and flow channel.
7. Goods stacking not too high, do not over press, do not reverse the arrow mark incase product packaging damage.
8. The ground (floor) is easy to be wet, especially in wet season. Please use pallet or table, high from the ground 375px. Before using pallet, we also need to check its moisture content, if over 22%, not suggesting. You can use moisture detector to check the moisture content.
9. Try to leave your goods away from the doors and windows. Because that in a relatively sealed warehouse environment, outside moisture usual invade from there first.
