Purpose of container desiccant:
Container desiccant is mainly made of some moisture-proof raw materials, such as calcium chloride, montmorillonite, molecular sieves and other raw materials, which are made through processing. Mainly rely on the materials inside to absorb moisture in the air, control the humidity in storage and transportation spaces, and prevent cargo sweat, so as to protect the transported goods from moisture absorption and mildew. Some container desiccants also have the function of continuously releasing anti-fungal agents, which can prevent mold by controlling the humidity and the source of bacteria.
The role of container breathing holes:
① Lead out the gas overflowing in the box.
② To avoid corrosive components in the gas emitted by the cargo, a vertical drainage channel will be opened at the lower end.
③ In order to avoid passing through the openings on the cover to pass through the box, a double labyrinth is set inside the cover, which can be ventilated but will not enter the water.
④ The openings on the cover are between 3mm-5mm to prevent the contraband from being inserted or taken out.
Precautions for the use of container desiccant:
① Before use, be sure to check whether the box is intact and the sealing ring is intact. You can check with light transmittance. Close the container door. If light penetrates, it indicates that there is a hole in the place and needs to be closed.
② Before using the container desiccant and loading, it is necessary to clean the container, and use the container disinfectant for proper sterilization to minimize the hidden danger of mold.
③ The container desiccant is best to choose a long strip, so that it can be hung in the hooks and grooves in the container, without affecting loading and not wasting space.
④ Generally, a 20-foot container uses 6-8 containers of desiccant at a distance of 2-3 meters, and a 40-foot container uses 10-14 containers with an interval of 2-3 meters.
Summary: The actual reason for the container breathing hole is that it is used to ventilate the cargo, and the use of container desiccant will not reduce the effect because the breathing hole is not sealed.
